Oklahoma City is in the heart of Oklahoma. With just over 643,600 residents, it holds over 16% of the state's population in it's 620 square mile area. With Tulsa to the northeast and Norman just to the south, the city serves as the main hub for both business and nightlife. It is also the state's capital.
Surrounded by oil wells and cattle ranches, the main attractions of the city are the beautiful capitol complex, the National Memorial which recalls the victims of the Murrah Federal Building bombing in 1995, the Oklahoma City Zoo and the Civic Center Music Hall.
There is an effort currently to legalize recreational cannabis in the state. Meanwhile, Oklahoma has one of the most liberal medical marijuana laws in the nation.
NuggMD's experienced and compassionate physicians are excited to join the state's medical marijuana movement. Our physicians are highly knowledgeable about the wide variety of conditions that are currently treated with cannabis.

NuggMD's physicians conduct their medical marijuana evaluations entirely online. Oklahoma's medical marijuana patient ID application is conducted online as well, so it's actually possible to get your MMJ card without ever leaving your home.
Your online evaluation is a very thorough, face-to-face process. Patients use a video-enabled phone, tablet or PC to speak to their physician and give specific information about their condition. Medical records can be uploaded during the sign up process so the physician has them available for reference.
There are just a few basic steps to the process:
That's all it takes! If you get confused during any part of the process, the NuggMD customer service team can help you get unstuck and on your way. They've already helped thousands of Oklahomans finish the process from evaluation to patient ID.
Not in Oklahoma City? NuggMD has locations all over the state of Oklahoma. Currently we have online appointments for;
If your area is not on the list above you can always book via our Oklahoma state page.
At first I was very unsure, even the consultation was very “ laid back “ I overall changed my mind and made sure not to judge harshly, as this service is very fast and most affordable in comparison to other companies! It was much easier than visiting a doctor that’s for sure. No waiting in line, no sitting for hours in some stuffy waiting room or line. Their easy, quick and you will be in and out fast! I say go for it, you’ll have a very quick experience and they just want you to really have the access you need to your medical cannabis; that you deserve!
This program was amazingly efficient and quick. No hassles. The doctor asked me a few pertinent questions, granted the recommendation, and I got a copy of the recommendation via email within 15 minutes of when I initially contacted the website.
This was a simple process that doesn’t seem “questionable”. There are a lot of unanswered questions in my state and this was beyond helpful.
Thank you so much for the excellent service.
Marijuana is legal in Oklahoma for medical use only and patients who use cannabis must have a state-issued patient or caregiver license to avoid prosecution.
Oklahoma banned cannabis in 1933 and actively prosecuted marijuana users throughout the following decades. By 2014, the Sooner state had had enough and Oklahomans for Health attempted, but failed, to gather enough signatures to put a medical marijuana legalization initiative on the ballot.
The following year, Oklahoma's legislature passed HB 2154, which allowed for sale of low-THC CBD oil. Green the Vote then began another initiative effort in 2015 for the 2016 ballot. They gathered enough signatures to qualify, but an intense court battle was created when Attorney General Scott Pruitt changed the language of the initiative without their consent. In response, Oklahomans for Health initiated a lawsuit which reached all the way to the Supreme Court of Oklahoma and won the restoration of their original intent.
The court battle delayed the intended 2016 vote, which organizers had planned to capture the more liberal turnout of general presidential elections. Instead, the vote was placed on the June 2018 ballot where it was predicted to have a much lower, and far more conservative turnout.
Despite these roadblocks, the very liberal SQ 788 passed by a substantial margin--57%, and Oklahoma became the 30th state to legalize medical marijuana with one of the most liberal state MMJ laws to date. As a result of their efforts, Oklahomans can:
These amounts are cumulative, meaning a person can have ALL of the above and still be within the limits of the law.
SQ788 also doesn't require any “qualifying conditions” as other states do, meaning virtually anyone can have a medical cannabis card if their doctor feels it would benefit them.
