How to be a medical cannabis caregiver in Nevada

Medicinal marijuana card holders in Nevada may opt to have a designated caregiver. It’s important to inform your doctor during your evaluation if this is the case. You will need their signed approval. When you submit your application to the state portal, there is an option to click “I will have a caregiver.” Follow the prompts provided.

Caregivers must

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Be issued an official medical marijuana ID card on behalf of the patient
  • Be approved by the physician
  • Provide their valid driver’s license or government-issued ID

Caregivers must not

  • Be assigned to more than one patient, and each patient may only have one caregiver.
  • Be the attending physician.
  • Be a cardholder themselves.

Caregivers are subject to the same laws and limits that apply to medical marijuana patients. All application fees must be paid, and caregivers must renew their application annually.
