First-Time Medical Cannabis Caregiver Guide
Different states have different rules for caregivers, affecting everything from eligibility rules to what steps caregivers can take to support their patients.
Dr. Kristen “Nicke” Worth is a physician with a passion for patient education, medical cannabis advocacy, and helping patients find safe, effective treatment options that improve quality of life. She earned her undergraduate degree in Anthropology with a Health Emphasis from the University of Utah, followed by a master’s degree in Bioethics and Medical Humanities and her Doctor of Medicine degree from Tulane University. She later pursued postgraduate training in pediatrics at Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Worth’s interest in medical cannabis began in 2017 while working in a pain and spine clinic. Her interest deepened during medical school and postgraduate training as she encountered its use in helping patients manage pain, nausea, muscle spasms, and other challenging symptoms. Through her work with NuggMD, she continues to expand her knowledge of cannabinoid medicine and its evolving role in patient care. In addition to her work with NuggMD, Dr. Worth works as a Physician Laser Associate, providing laser tattoo removal treatments in the Cleveland area.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys creative writing, gardening, baking, board games, and spending time outdoors. She lives in the Cleveland area with her husband, three children, and an ever-expanding collection of animals. A hobbit at heart, she is happiest with good food, good company, a garden to tend, and an adventure waiting just beyond the front door.
