The list of debilitating medical conditions is maintained by the Department of Consumer Protections. As such, the Department Commission has established a Board of Physicians, all of whom are state-licensed physicians and surgeons. This board will be responsible for recommending to the Department of Consumer Protection other debilitating medical treatments, or diseases that should also be eligible for the use of medical marijuana.

The Department of Consumer Protection has laid out regulations on medical marijuana to allow members of the public to present a petition to the Board if they wish to recommend other qualifying medical conditions or treatments.

The state registration fee to get a medical cannabis card in Vermont is $50. Patients are also responsible for the cost of the required medical evaluation, which can be completed through NuggMD with no risk because you receive a full refund if you aren’t approved by your practitioner to access medical cannabis in the state.

No, Vermont doesn’t have any laws in place that require insurance companies to cover cannabis. Some states are enacting laws to either require state insurance to cover cannabis, or allow private insurers to do so. We’ll update this page when Vermont passes such a law.

It takes just minutes to sign up and get your evaluation, but the state of Vermont takes up to 30 days to review your patient application. If approved, you’ll receive your card at the address provided in the application.

Absolutely! You have the right to see any practitioner you choose for your annual evaluation. If you’re switching physicians, be sure to bring your medical records from your last evaluation and any medical records you have related to your condition. This will help your practitioner conduct a thorough evaluation of your condition.

With NuggMD, if you’re not approved get your money back, automatically. We believe everyone deserves access to a qualified medical cannabis doctor, and the cost of an evaluation shouldn’t be a barrier.

If you’re not approved for your medical marijuana certification, your evaluation is free.

If you sign up and pay for your evaluation, but then cancel before your evaluation, there is a small $10 fee for the payment processing.

Once you’ve been approved and issued your certification, a refund for services will no longer be available. Please send an email to support@nuggmd.com with the subject line “Refund Request” and a brief description of your issue.

We want to make sure you’re 100% satisfied with your purchase being that you, the customer, are the most important thing to us! Once a refund has been initiated, please allow 3-5 business days for the funds to transfer back to the card you used for the transaction. If any issues arise, please feel free to reach back out for further assistance.

Vermont does not accept out-of-state medical marijuana cards. However, each state has its own laws regarding medical cannabis reciprocity, and you may be able to use your Vermont medical card in a state you’re visiting. Keep in mind, it is always prohibited to transport cannabis across state lines even if you have a valid medical cannabis card in one or both states.

No. You must have a valid Vermont driver’s license or ID in order to apply for a Vermont medical marijuana card. For a complete list of documents needed for a Vermont medical marijuana card, see the Vermont medical marijuana patient application.
