The medical marijuana program in Colorado is limited to residents with qualified medical conditions approved by the state.

Colorado separates the list of qualifying medical conditions eligible for medical marijuana treatment into two categories.

Debilitating medical conditions. Only physicians with an MD or a DO can recommend medical marijuana for these conditions. These types of conditions are issued a card valid for 1 year.

• Severe nausea

Disabling medical conditions. MDs, DO, dentists, and advanced practice practitioners with prescriptive authority can recommend medical marijuana to treat these conditions. The recommending physician will decide how long the medical marijuana card will be valid based on the needs of the patient.

• An Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Any condition for which a physician could prescribe an opioid
• Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Only the conditions listed are eligible for Colorado's medical marijuana program. The state offers recreational cannabis to adults over 21.

Medical cannabis patients in Colorado are exempt from paying cannabis taxes and have a higher possession limit than recreational consumers. Medical patients may also have caregivers designated for cultivation, transportation, and advising.

Once a refund has been initiated, please allow 3-5 business days for the funds to transfer back to the card you used for the transaction.
