Gelato Strain Overview

Gelato is a cultivar with many names. It is also commonly known as Larry Bird or Gelato #33.

First cultivated in Northern California’s Bay Area as a cross between Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, Gelato’s genetics can be traced back to the Cookie Fam, the Sherbinkskis, and Mario Guzman.

After parting ways, the cultivators developed numerous phenotypes and descendants, including Gelato #42, Dolce Gelato, Gelato #41 (Bacio Gelato), Gelato #43 (Gello Gelato), Gelato #47 (Mochi Gelato), and Gelato #49 (Acai Berry Gelato).

The Gelato cultivar has diverse fruity, creamy flavors of berry, sherbet, orange, and vanilla. It also has hints of woody, earthy, and diesel aromas. Consumers note that it can cause feelings of euphoria, arousal, and relaxation. The effects of this cultivar are also reported to be helpful for symptoms related to stress, anxiety, and depression.
