It isn’t possible to get medical marijuana in Nebraska yet, though Nebraskans for Medical Marijuana are leading the charge to qualify a ballot measure.
Nebraska decriminalized possession of less than an ounce for first-time offenders in 1979. The maximum fine for this first offense is $300. On a second offense, possession of less than an ounce is a misdemeanor with a maximum fine of $400. The third and subsequent offenses are misdemeanors with a maximum fine of $500 plus a potential week in jail.

In many states that’s either the state’s department of health or a cannabis control board. When Nebraska legalizes, if your condition isn’t on the list, it may be possible to petition the office responsible for medical cannabis to have it added.
