Missouri allows physicians to recommend cannabis for any "chronic, debilitating or other medical condition." Other common qualifying conditions include:

Some patients want to have - or are required to have - a designated caregiver who can purchase cannabis on their behalf. They’re also allowed to transport it and prepare it for patient use. If the caregiver has a cultivation registration for the patient, they may cultivate on their behalf as well. The cultivation registration costs $50.
Caregivers will need a Patient Authorization Form filled out by the patient that they will be caring for. Once the caregiver has the form, they will need to create and fill out their own account in the state's Online Registration Portal.
To qualify as your caregiver, they must:
Caregivers cannot:
The caregiver application fee is $25.
Follow the instructions once you start the NuggMD process to fill out your application. Make sure you enter all of your information accurately to avoid possible delays in your processing. When you’re approved, your NuggMD medical marijuana doctor will send you your certification form via email.
Once your doctor completes this process, you’ll complete your state registration via their online portal. You’ll need to enter all of the requested information and pay the state registration fee of $25.
Now that Amendment 3 has passed, you'll only need to renew your registration once every three years.
Thankfully, the process for how to renew your Missouri medical cannabis card isn’t complicated. And NuggMD makes the process even easier!
Whether you got your initial recommendation with NuggMD or another doctor or service in the state, our medical marijuana doctors are standing by.

Missouri residents 18 and older with a recommendation from their Missouri-licensed physician can register with the program. Missourians 18 and under must have a parent or guardian's express, written consent. With the passing of Amendment 3, Missouri will grant medical marijuana privileges to the state's parolees and probationers.
Most conditions qualify for cannabis in Missouri under "Any other chronic, debilitating or other medical condition," but here is the full list of qualifying conditions:
Missouri has a long, inclusive list of qualifying conditions for cannabis, but they also allow doctors to recommend the herb for "any other chronic, debilitating or other medical condition, or any chronic condition that normally requires prescriptions that could lead to dependence, if the doctor determines that marijuana could be safer and more effective." This means that the decision to recommend cannabis is entirely up to your physician.
For now, having an MMJ ID is the only way to legally purchase and possess cannabis in Missouri. Legal cannabis sales will likely begin in February 2023. Still, even after cannabis is legalized, having an MMJ ID card will come with a lot of benefits:
So, it's still very beneficial to have a medical marijuana card in Missouri. Don't take the legal and health risks associated with the black market. Get legal today!
It only costs $199 to get a Missouri MMJ evaluation with NuggMD, and there's no risk because patients who don't qualify for the program will get their recommendation for free! The application fee is $25 for a patient or caregiver. An additional (and optional) cultivation card costs $50. This cultivation application fee is in addition to the $25 fee.
Unfortunately, no. You'll be responsible for the cost of your medical marijuana products. Since medical marijuana is still a federally illegal Schedule 1 drug, insurers won't reimburse for the cost of acquiring cannabis.
Your physician will issue your certification within 24 to 48 hours, but Amendment 2 allows the state to take up to 30 days to process your application. If the state doesn't finish processing it by then, your certification will serve as your ID for up to a year. But it's nearly guaranteed that this will never happen. The Department has been very fast with applications up to this point. Some applicants have received their new patient identification cards via email within 48 hours.
With NuggMD, you are ONLY charged for your evaluation if you are approved. We believe everyone deserves access to a qualified medical cannabis doctor, and the cost of an evaluation shouldn’t be a barrier.
You’ll only be charged if you’re approved for your medical marijuana certification. If not, your evaluation is free! If you sign up and pay for your evaluation, but then cancel before your evaluation, there is a small $10 fee for the payment processing. You can also change your mind after your evaluation if you wish and request a refund, but you must do so before your certification has been submitted to the state. Once you’ve been certified, a refund for services will no longer be available. Please send an email to support@nuggmd.com with the subject line “Refund Request” and a brief description of your issue. We want to make sure you’re 100% satisfied with your purchase being that you, the customer, are the most important thing to us! Once a refund has been initiated, please allow 3-5 business days for the funds to transfer back to the card you used for the transaction. A refund is no longer available more than 30 days after the date of your evaluation. If any issues arise, please feel free to reach back out for further assistance.
Of course! You can see any Missouri state-licensed licensed physician to obtain your medical marijuana renewal evaluation. NuggMD's Missouri-state licensed doctors are standing by to see you today.
This depends on the state to which you're traveling. Each state has different rules regarding medical marijuana reciprocity, and some don't allow it at all. Check with your destination state to learn more.
Yes, but if you don't use your Missouri driver's license or ID for your proof of identity, you'll need to show proof of residency in the state by producing either a Current Missouri Motor Vehicle Registration or a Recent Missouri Utility Bill with your name on it.
