Mango Strain Overview

Mango, or “Mango OG” from KC Brains Seeds, was developed by crossing KC 33 with Afghani; this strain is said to produce slow-surfacing yet powerfully long-lasting effects. Oozing with 15% to 24% THC, up to 10% CBD, and 1% CBN, the Mango strain is preferred by medical cannabis patients with appetite loss, chronic pain, depression, insomnia, PTSD, and spinal cord injury. Due to the presence of the primary terpene myrcene which is also present in small amounts in the fleshy fruit sedation is common with this perfectly balanced cultivar.

Other terpenes like pinene, limonene, humulene, and caryophyllene add to Mango’s mentally unwinding and physically soothing anti-inflammatory effects. The smell and flavor are reminiscent of mangos but with a spicy, peppery, earthy touch. It even features orange streaks across its yellow-green nugs, which are iced with resin-producing trichomes.

Strain profile, effects, and common uses are based on customer reviews. Further research is needed, and effects may vary by user. Information on this page does not constitute or replace medical advice.

Mango Strain Effects & Common Usage

The Mango strain’s primary cannabinoid, THC (15-24%), may work alongside the terpenes, myrcene, caryophyllene, pinene, limonene, and humulene to promote feelings of relaxation, sedation, increased appetite, and pain relief.

Relaxed. A blend of limonene, caryophyllene, and pinene may produce relaxation.

Sleepy. High levels of THC and the presence of the sedating terpenes pinene and myrcene may guarantee a good night’s sleep.

Hungry. THC is renowned as an appetite stimulant because it increases the “hunger hormone,” ghrelin.

Stress. Myrcene has been hailed as a stress reliever in some studies, while THC may be a stress-buster in low doses.

Anxiety. Myrcene, pinene, limonene, and caryophyllene may offer anxiety relief.

Pain. THC, CBD, and the terpenes caryophyllene, limonene, pinene, humulene, and myrcene have potential anti-inflammatory properties and may help with pain relief.

Mango Strain Dosage Recommendations

Due to its generous THC content (15-24%), the Mango strain is best reserved for experienced consumers. However, CBD and CBN might offset some intoxication, so test the effects with one to two puffs and wait 15 to 30 minutes before consuming more.

The right dosage can vary greatly from one user to the next. If you have questions about finding the right dosage or product type for your needs, consider consulting with a medical cannabis doctor, or you can request a consultation with NuggMD’s Cannabis Concierge.
